the estimated time remaining was unreliable increasing for quite a while until it eventually worked itself out.

Having large drives installed in laptop and all partitions almost full and not having spare multi-terabyte external drives to hand just small 250G SSDs in USB caddies the level of testing I could do was limited to just cloning the HP recovery partition to an external SSD.

Installed on 32bit Vista SP2+ without issue, set firewall outbound protection to allow outbound connections and activated the supplied license code just fine.

IF you ever plan to buy the "product" you would be FAR BETTER OFF to buy the real complete program from EASEUS that have the experience in developing the program and not just rebranders that bodge the install script badly. IF you ever plan to buy the "product" you would be FAR BETTER OFF to buy the real complete program from EASEUS that have the experience in developing the program and not just rebranders that bodge the install script badly.Īll suspicions have been confirmed. But the base executables and ini files and data files are identically named in the installers.ĪND the EasUS Drive Copy installer has CORRECT windows version check data of "0.0,5.0 Service Pack 4 " while this rebrand has the broken impossible windows version check of "0.0,5.01 Service Pack 4 "Īll suspicions have been confirmed. Which also explains why the two installers differ so greatly in size. Save | Cancelįurther investigation into this giveaways executable and support files leads me to believe this is a bought in rebranded EaseUS Disk Copy program that product name is splattered around the executables as far as I can see comparing todays rebranded EASEUS Disk Copy and the real EASEUS branded version is THAT build includes the programs and logic to build a bootable WinPE environment which this rebrand does not include. They certainly did not accomplish that with this offer. I hope that Magoshare can improve on its AweClone product, improve on its pre-sales support (such as on GOTD), and at some point be as valuable as its competitors. If AweClone was what you wanted but too cautious to install or use it, do a search for "offline disk duplicator." I have Acronis and Macrium but I always resort to using the offline disk duplicator.

They eliminate the issues of Acronis and Macrium Reflect. If you don't have one, you probably will not regret buying one.

The quick swap of drives makes them valuable for this purpose alone. They do come with a USB 3 cable in case you want to use the device as a docking station for two external drives. Press a button on the side, and the source drive is duplicated on the target, no connection to the computer needed. Push a source drive in, and a destination drive in. One slot is for source, the other for the target. They have two slots for SATA drives, and each slot accepts 2.5 or 3.5 in drives.

Many other comments mentioned alternative software choices along with the drawbacks of each, but no one mentioned the one alternative that I have found well worth the investment: an offline disk duplicator/disk cloning device. This sort of response from the developer tells me that if I were to purchase the software or recommend it to someone else, I would not be able to expect much from the developer if there ever were any problems. The developer's response was the same "make sure you enter the right code," which totally ignores the user's question as to "where" to enter the code.
#AWECLONE 2.6 REGISTRATION#
Several user's comments asked "where" to enter the registration code. Even though there were comments indicating success, there were many comments of users having problems, and worse still was the same exact message from the developer for any issue. I was hopeful that AweColone would be what it advertises but there were too many comments about this software that scares me from trying it.

Disk cloning/duplication can be a stressful moment, especially when you need it.
